We shall not under any circumstances be liable for such charges.

I’m not registered and I can’t seem to access some Content or features on the app or site. Why is that?

Non-registered users are able to access only that portion of SportSociety that is publicly available. They will not have a Profile. The extent of registered users’ access to SportSociety will depend on certain criteria relating to their Profile being met. We may change or update the criteria from time to time without prior notice and at our discretion.

They say that you can have too much of a good thing... what do I do if I want to “unregister” myself from SportSociety?

If you have registered on SportSociety, you can terminate your registration at any time by going to the ‘Settings’ control on SportSociety when you are logged in and choosing the ‘delete profile’ link.

We save your profile information in case you later decide to restore your account. Many users deactivate their accounts for temporary reasons and in doing so expect us to maintain their information until they return to SportSociety. • Geographical positions and Crossing points with Societies (public).

As following the law: Beginning April 1, 2022, all apps must also post a privacy policy in the Google Play Console and within the app itself.

The Application’s main value and purpose is to allow Members to find Societies that can be interesting to them depending on the amount of player at each of them. We provide real time real data of players in your city so users can make their decisions.

We believe this to be extremely beneficial for our users, and its a our core purpose to provide this information.

Is for this reason we ask for location while using the app and location in the background to provide this usefully  information for our users.

Without the use of Background location our App will not have the same value or/and experience for the user.

Your Geographical position is collected with your express consent only. In fact, you will be asked to authorize the collection and processing of your location data to allow SportSociety to identify your crossing points with Societies.

Unless you have chosen stricter settings on your device, SportSociety will collect your Geographical position regularly.

When the Geographical positions of Members and Societies cross within a certain radius SportSociety will show you as an active user of the Society.

The Society will be displayed the number of Members of the app who are within the range of the Society.

Nevertheless, members with whom you cross paths or any other user can never see your exact location.

The information shown in the societies will be shown as a number and never as individual person location.

During your registration, if you do not provide your consent for geolocation, you must provide the name of your city. This information will enable SportSociety to suggest Societies near you.

These Societies points can be displayed as icons and points on the Map (Mapping).

You may, at any time, withdraw your consent by disabling geolocation on your smartphone. If you choose to do so, your news feed will no longer be updated, and you will not be able to see your presence at the Societies with after disabling the geolocation option. When you have no more Societies in your Map, we will ask you the name of your city in order to suggest new Societies profiles near you.

You can also ask that your profile are no longer displayed on the Map (Mapping). In this case, you will not appear in the Societies. And we will not be able to provide this information to other users who might be willing to know how many players are at each location.

For this, go to the application and click on " Configuration ” then go to the bottom of your screen and disable the option “Share my Location in the background”.

Is imperative to understand that:

  • The request location permissions from users is not use for the sole purpose of advertising or analytics.

  • Background location may only be used to provide features beneficial to the user and relevant to the core functionality of the app.

We had also consider replacing location access in the background with access to location in the foreground instead.

  • By suggesting nearby Societies only when the user is in the app but we

Community Guidelines

SportSociety is the place to practice sports and create connections. It’s a space where everyone can be real about who they are and what they’re looking for.

We want everyone to enjoy their journey on SportSociety, and to use our platform safely and responsibly. Millions of people around the world rely on us to maintain a secure and trustworthy space to make connections. We have created these community guidelines to give you an idea of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behaviour on our platform.

Our policies are developed with the help of our community and the commitment of our staff to maintain a safe space to make connections.

We are committed to reviewing our policies on a continual basis so that they accurately reflect and represent the diversity of our members, and stay up to date with the many changes in the world.

SportSociety is not a place for:

Under 13

This means that you must be 13 or older to join the platform. If we find any evidence that you might be under that age, we will block you from the service. If we have done so mistakenly, we reserve the right to ask for identification to verify your age.

We understand that some members would like to include children in their pictures. We ask that children do not appear alone in the images and be completely clothed. This is safer for everyone involved.

In short:

  • No members under the age of 13

  • No photos of children alone in your profile.

Fake Profiles

When you join SportSociety, we expect you to represent yourself honestly. That means you must: use the name you go by in everyday life, only use real photos of yourself, not misrepresent yourself or impersonate anyone else, or alter any information about yourself.

This includes:

  • Lying about your information including your age and location.

  • Posting or sending photos that are not you.

  • Posting or sending photoshopped pictures that would suggest you are someone else.

  • Posting images where your face is obscured.

  • Posting images with watermarks, logos, overlaying text or heavy editing.

Discrimination

We’re a very diverse community. This means you should always respect other people’s beliefs, interests and identity. SportSociety takes a strong stance against hate speech and discrimination.

We consider content to be hate speech (and take more severe actions against a profile) if it promotes or condones racism, bigotry, violence, hate, dehumanisation, or harm against individuals or groups based on:

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Disability

  • Age

  • Comments hoping or calling for harm on a person or group of people.

  • Slurs against a protected community.

  • Threats against any person or group, including political figures.

  • Images that depict others as less than human.

  • Forcing your opinion of an ideal identity onto another person. For instance, we take a strong stance against body shaming, or forcing your opinion of a ‘good body’ onto others.

Harassment, Assault or Abuse

On SportSociety, while we want you to express yourself with a potential match, you should not do so in a way that might make them feel uncomfortable or targeted.

This includes:

In this Cookies Policy we explain the cookies which SportSociety uses, the purposes for which cookies are used and how you can manage your preferences in relation to cookies.

What are 'cookies' and which 'cookies' does SportSociety use?

We collect information by placing cookies on your computer or mobile phone. A cookie is a piece of text stored on your computer or mobile phone by your web browser. For example, a session ID cookie is placed on your device or mobile phone that lasts for a limited time after your visit. We also place persistent cookies (also known as local storage devices) on users' devices, so that SportSociety remembers them and makes their login experience faster and easier.

We may use persistent tracking cookies on your mobile device, mainly for security protection purposes, such as to prevent phishers, scammers and unauthorised login attempts.
